Pro tip: That $300 magnesium float was worth every penny

I finally bought a Marshalltown 16 inch magnesium float after using steel for years. It cuts down on bleed water way faster and leaves a smoother finish, especially on big pours like the slab we did for that new warehouse in Chandler. Anyone else made the switch and noticed less time spent on the bull float pass?

My buddy's crew said the same thing about bleed water.

Yeah, "my buddy's crew" is the key. It's always second-hand advice. People love repeating what they heard from some guy who knows a guy. See it all the time with car repairs or home fixes. They get a half-truth and run with it like it's the only way.

Actually, bleed water is a real thing in concrete work, not just a rumor.
