Caught a weird bit on a podcast about the 1997 Phoenix Lights

The host was interviewing a former Air Force guy who claimed the official 'flares' explanation doesn't hold up because the formation was silent and moved against the wind that night. He said the object was over a mile wide based on triangulation from witnesses in Prescott and Tucson. It got me digging into old FAA reports from that time. Has anyone found a solid primary source that actually debunks the military's story?

That whole thing feels like how big groups often just stick to their story.

Wait they actually doubled down on that? I saw the first statement and thought for sure they'd walk it back after people called them out. It's wild to just keep repeating the same line when everyone knows it's not the full picture. They really think sticking to the script makes them look strong instead of just stubborn. Feels like they're banking on people getting tired and moving on, but it's having the opposite effect. Honestly it's making the whole situation way worse for them.
