Hit the 10,000 subscriber mark on my small channel yesterday and it felt off

I run a tiny youtube channel where I show electrical troubleshooting on old houses. After 3 years of grinding I finally crossed 10,000 subs yesterday. But I noticed something weird the jump from 9,800 to 10,000 happened in about 6 hours with no new video or post. That many people dont just show up at once unless something is pushing them. Has anyone else hit a milestone that felt bot driven or just plain strange?

Well that is odd. I had something similar happen when I hit 5,000 subs on my old house wiring channel. I actually went into my analytics and found a big chunk of the new subscribers came from a foreign country I had never gotten traffic from before. Turned out a popular forum in that country had linked one of my videos. So it might not be bots, could be someone shared your content somewhere you haven't checked yet.

Huh, you know what, I used to be pretty suspicious about those kind of jumps. I'd see a spike in subscribers and immediately think it was bots or some kind of glitch. But then a couple months back I had the same thing happen on my own channel, a weird surge that felt too fast to be real. I poked around and actually found someone had posted a link to one of my videos in a Facebook group for old home owners in Australia. I'd never had any traffic from there before, so it just looked like a random bot flood in the analytics. It really changed my mind, now I try to figure out where the traffic is coming from before I worry too much. It's easy to jump to the worst conclusion, but sometimes people just find your stuff in a place you never thought to look.
