I kept fact-checking conspiracies on Facebook, and a friend's screenshot of a fake moon landing page proved I was arguing with a bot for 3 days
About 6 weeks ago in Tacoma I got into a back and forth on a local group about the moon landing being filmed in a studio. I spent maybe 4 hours total pulling up NASA links and camera specs to refute the guy. My friend Jenna sent me a screenshot that showed the account had posted the exact same copy-pasted reply 11 times in 2 days with zero variation. That was the moment I realized I was basically yelling at a script, not a person. Now I check post history before I reply to anyone in these debates. Has anyone else caught a bot in a conspiracy thread and what gave it away?
