I tried to fact check a flat earth video for a friend and it took me like 3 days to untangle all the bad sources lol

Next time just send them the globe's Wikipedia page instead.

Honestly that would backfire so fast. They'd just link you to the flat earth wiki in response. Some people treat Wikipedia like it's the final word, but anyone can edit those pages. I've seen articles get weirdly biased or just plain wrong for a few days before someone fixes it. Sending a link doesn't prove anything to someone who already decided not to believe it.

fisher.kevin nailed it. I once tried to argue with a flat earther by sending them a NASA link. They replied with a YouTube video about how NASA faked the moon landings. I just sat there feeling like an idiot. At this point I think I'd probably accidentally send the wrong link anyway and prove their point for them. Last time I tried to fact check something I ended up on a conspiracy theory site for an hour. Maybe I should just stick to arguing about pizza toppings or something simpler.
