Lost my whole photo collection when that cloud storage service folded

I had been using this small cloud backup service since 2018. It was cheap and worked fine so I never thought twice about it. Last month I got an email saying they were shutting down in 30 days. I logged in to download everything but the site was already broken. Lost about 4 years of photos from trips and family stuff. I tried their support line but nobody answered. Now I just keep everything on two external drives and one main folder I manually copy every week. Has anyone else gotten burned by a service disappearing like that?

omg that is horrible... something similar happened to me back in 2019 with a service called PhotoVault. I had all my college graduation pictures and a video of my grandmother's 80th birthday on there and then one day the app just stopped loading... I kept getting error messages for like a week before I finally googled it and found out the company had gone bankrupt. I still feel sick thinking about that video being gone forever.

Did you ever try checking the Wayback Machine or anything like that? I know it sounds weird, but a buddy of mine had a similar thing happen with an old photo site back in 2017 and he actually found some of his pics archived there. Maybe you could get at least a few of the college graduation shots back like that. @anna567 its worth a shot before you totally give up on that video.
