Pro tip: Don't try to debunk flat earth with a coworker at the holiday party

I was in the break room in Austin when Dave from accounting cornered me about 'NASA's lies' and I pulled up a satellite photo on my phone. He just said 'CGI' and walked off, leaving me holding my drink. Anyone have a better go-to fact for that situation?

It's the same with any conspiracy talk now, the goalposts just move to "fake news" or "deep state." You can't win with facts.

Got stuck in that exact spot last year. I just ask how planes fly long routes if the earth is flat, because the flight paths make no sense on a flat map. My uncle is a pilot and he explained it once, and it stuck with me. It's a simple thing they have to actually explain. Miles992 has a good one with the time zones too, that's another solid basic point. Honestly, once someone says "CGI" you're done, they don't want real answers. Save your breath and go get another snack.

The 24 time zones convinced me.
