Spent $300 on a forensic audio tool, turned out to be a free plugin
I was deep in a rabbit hole about that airport tower recording everyone was debating, so I dropped $300 on some audio analysis software to try and clean up the static myself. Turns out the paid version does exactly what a free plugin for Audacity does, just with a fancier interface. The only real difference was a spectrogram heatmap color option, which changed nothing about the actual signals. Anyone else blow cash on gear that a free download could've handled, or did I just miss the obvious search result?

lol did you at least get a refund for the color gimmick? That's the oldest tech scam in the book, fancy UI masking zero actual upgrades.
