The day my whole unit went offline during a critical patient transfer...
I work as a hospital IT guy, and last Tuesday we had this big code blue situation where they were moving a patient to the ICU. Right in the middle of it, the entire floor's network went down. Every computer, every tablet, every phone just blank. Turned out some maintenance guy tripped over a power cord in the server closet while trying to fix a leaky pipe. Nobody could access charts or call the pharmacy for 15 minutes. Has anyone else dealt with a random physical thing taking down a whole system like that?

Back when I worked at a data center, someone propped open a fire door with a mop bucket and the whole cooling system went haywire. Took out three server rows before anyone figured out why the temperature alarms were screaming. The worst part was the mop bucket belonged to the janitor who was just trying to keep the hallway from flooding after a water fountain exploded. We spent four hours rebooting racks and the janitor spent four hours explaining to management why a mop bucket was wedged into a fire door. Sometimes the dumbest things cause the biggest headaches.
