TIL a guy at a Denver UFO conference changed how I look at crop circles

I was at a small UFO meetup in Denver last fall, listening to a speaker go on about energy fields. Afterward, this older guy in a trucker hat pulled me aside near the snack table. He said, 'Kid, I've made over 50 of those circles in England with two boards and a rope. The real mystery is why people keep flying there to see them.' He showed me a picture on his phone of him and his buddies in a field at night. Now I always check for the human element first before getting too deep into any theory. Anyone else had a chat that flipped a whole idea for them?

That's the thing, right? People want the mystery so bad they ignore the simple answer. I saw a documentary where they had guys making perfect circles in a few hours with basic tools. The real story is how the idea spreads, not the shapes in the field. Makes you wonder what else we overcomplicate because the boring truth isn't fun enough.
