Why does nobody talk about the 10,000 steps myth?
I hit 10,000 steps on my fitness tracker for a whole month straight and my weight didn't budge... not even a pound. Turns out that number was just a marketing gimmick from a Japanese step counter company back in the 1960s. My doctor told me last week that most people need way more movement or actual diet changes to see results. Has anyone else felt duped by this whole step goal thing?

Oh honey, you're not alone. I learned that same lesson the hard way after months of walking and wondering why my jeans still fit the same.

Used to think walking was like a magic bullet for weight loss, honestly felt dumb when I realized it's just good for your heart and mood. Swapped some walks for bodyweight exercises at home and that's when the changes finally showed up. Really opened my eyes to how much actual effort is required to drop weight versus just staying active.

Yeah, but did you actually walk fast enough to break a sweat?
