I thought I was a genius for putting hot sauce on my ice cream until my brother saw me
I've been doing this for about three years, ever since I tried it on a dare at a state fair in Ohio. I thought the sweet and spicy mix was amazing. Then last week, my brother walked in while I was pouring a whole bottle of Cholula on a bowl of vanilla. He just stared and said, 'That's the most wrong thing I've ever seen a person eat.' It made me stop and actually think about it. Maybe I just got used to a bad idea. Has anyone else had a snack habit that sounded good to you but looked crazy to everyone else?

My friend dips her fries in strawberry milkshakes, and people give her the same look.

Oh man, @the_john, that's so real! People get weirdly protective about food combos. I see it all the time, like when someone puts ketchup on scrambled eggs or eats cold pizza for breakfast. There's this unspoken rule book everyone thinks they have to follow. Your friend's shake and fries thing is just another tasty example of someone breaking the fake rules. It's all good until you try it and realize it's actually kind of amazing.

My roommate used to make peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. The look on his girlfriend's face when she first saw him take a bite was pure horror.
