Late-night chocolate was messing with my sleep
I quit having chocolate in the evenings. Now I fall asleep easier and wake up more rested.

Totally get this, had the exact same thing happen with dark chocolate after dinner. Would just lie there for hours feeling wide awake but also kinda sluggish, it was the worst. Figured out it was probably the caffeine and maybe the sugar crash too. Took about three nights of cutting it out to really notice a difference. Now my brain actually winds down when it's supposed to. Feels so much better in the morning.

Oh man, that happened to me too with chocolate before bed. I felt totally wired but tired at the same time. Switching to herbal tea in the evenings fixed my sleep almost right away.

Switching to herbal tea like @the_jason mentioned was a game changer for me too. I had to stop eating anything with even a little chocolate after like 6pm because that slight caffeine buzz just wouldn't quit. Found I really needed a solid hour to just read or listen to a boring podcast with the lights low to tell my brain the day is done. Cutting out that late snack and having a quiet routine made my sleep way deeper.
