Stop dipping your BBQ chips in ranch. It ruins the rub.
Was at a tailgate last Saturday and saw a guy dump a whole bag of salt and vinegar chips into a bowl of ranch. The vinegar just curdles the ranch. Tastes like sour milk. I called him out and he got defensive. Am I the only one who notices this?

My buddy Kevin did this at a cookout last summer with a bag of spicy chili chips and a whole tub of ranch. He was bragging about his "dip game" and then took a huge bite. His face went from proud to confused real quick. He tried to play it off but I saw him spit it into a napkin when he thought nobody was looking. The texture gets all weird too, like clumpy and grainy. I told him the vinegar is the problem but he said he "likes the tang." Dude literally ruined his whole appetite.

Gotta stick up for Kevin here, honestly. I've done this exact move with plain sour cream and onion chips dunked into a bowl of straight buttermilk ranch and it's a legit flavor bomb if you get the ratio right. The key is you can't just dump a pile of chips in there like a savage, you gotta dip each chip individually and let the excess drip off so it stays crunchy on the outside. Sure the texture changes a little after a minute but that's just the chip absorbing the dressing and becoming this creamy salty monster that's way better than any store bought dip.
