Unpopular opinion: plain potato chips are better than kettle cooked

I was at a friend's barbecue last weekend and they had a whole spread of kettle cooked chips. Everyone was grabbing them like they were gold. But honestly, I think they're way too hard and crunchy, they cut up the roof of my mouth. Give me a regular Lays or Ruffles any day, they just melt better with dip. Am I the only one who thinks kettle cooked is overrated?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. I went to a party last year and the host had like five different bags of kettle cooked chips, and I kept trying to be polite but the roof of my mouth was all torn up by the end of the night. Regular Lays are just way more comfortable to eat, especially with french onion dip... that combo is unbeatable. Kettle cooked always feel like they're gonna break a tooth or something. Plain chips are classic for a reason.
