A regular at my chair in Milwaukee told me she could finally see her natural curl pattern after I stopped using a brush on her wet hair.
She pointed at her reflection and said, 'I spent 30 years fighting this, and you just handed me a towel,' which made me rethink every 'detangling' step in my wet cuts.

My stylist in Chicago said the same thing about my own hair.

Guess stylists in Chicago have a universal script for hair talk. Must be something in the lake water. Next they'll all start telling people they need more layers. It's like a weird, expensive club where the password is "texture" and "dimensional color".

Isn't it wild how they all say the same stuff? My last haircut, the stylist spent ten minutes talking about "removing weight" and "creating movement" before she even picked up the scissors. Then she tried to sell me a special sea salt spray for "beach texture." I live in Ohio. We have lakes.
