Appreciation post: A client's kid in Phoenix taught me a new way to hold shears

I was doing a simple trim in my home salon last Tuesday, and my client's 8-year-old was watching. He asked why I held my shears 'like a pencil' and said his art teacher showed him a 'thumb rest grip' for better control. I tried it on a test piece, and honestly, it felt way more stable for detailed point cutting. Now I use that grip for all my texturizing work. Anyone else pick up a random tip from a totally unexpected place?

That thumb rest grip actually gave me wrist pain after two hours.

Wrist pain after two hours" seems like a quick jump to blame the gear. Maybe it's just how you're sitting, brian_robinson. People get sore from holding anything wrong.
