Yikes. Dayton Walmart box dye is a whole different breed of regret. That stuff never lifts right and now you're the one who has to fix it or explain why the color is patchy. I'd charge extra just for the emotional damage. Some folks really think a five dollar box is the same as a salon, bless their heart. Hope you made her sign something before you touched it.
