Dropped $200 on a hot comb that warped in two weeks

I bought this fancy ceramic hot comb from a salon supply shop in Portland last month. Paid $212 for it thinking it would last me years. After maybe 15 uses the plates started warping and grabbing at hair instead of sliding smooth. Has anyone else had luck with a specific brand that holds up better than this?

...so did you check the warranty on that thing yet? Most salon-grade tools like that come with at least a 30 day guarantee, especially if the plates are actually warping and not just residue buildup. I've had that happen with a couple cheaper brands where the ceramic coating started peeling off after a few months, but full-on warping in two weeks sounds like a manufacturing defect or maybe they got stored somewhere too hot. What brand was it, exactly?

@anderson.jason honestly it's probably user error not a defect at all.
