Found out the average salon client only rebooks every 11 weeks, not 6, and it changed how I book my whole week
I was reading a trade survey from the Professional Beauty Association that came out back in March and one number jumped out at me. The average client waits 11 weeks between appointments, but most of us build our books assuming a 6 week turn. I work at a salon in Boise and I ran my own numbers after that. Turns out my regulars average 9 and a half weeks, and my color clients are closer to 12. So for two years I was squeezing folks into slots they didn't need and turning away new walk ins who actually wanted in. I switched to booking my repeats at 10 to 12 weeks out and leaving gap slots open for new faces, and my chair stayed full without the panic texts. If you track yours, what number do you actually land on?
