Had a client meltdown in the chair last Thursday

Was doing a balayage on a regular at my salon in Portland. She suddenly started crying about her roots and demanded I strip it all out, 45 minutes into the process. How do you guys handle clients flipping mid-service without losing your cool or the chemistry?

Yeah that's rough, totally feel for you on that one.

...man I've been there too. What worked for me was breaking it down into really small steps. Like, just focus on one thing you can do today, not the whole mountain in front of you. I used to keep a little notebook and write down three tiny tasks each morning. Checking them off gave me some momentum even when everything felt heavy. Just don't try to fix it all at once, that's what gets you stuck in the first place.
