Had a convo with my 70 year old client yesterday that made me rethink my whole approach

She told me she's been using the same hot roller set since 1985 and her hair looks better than half my clients who use $400 curling irons. Made me realize I've been chasing new tools and products when maybe the old methods still work just fine. Anyone else have a client or mentor drop some old school wisdom that totally changed how you work?

Oh man, that is such a good point. My aunt still uses a curling iron she bought at a garage sale in the 70s and her hair has more volume than anything I can get with my fancy ceramic tools.

My mom's been using the same hairbrush since 1985 and it works better than anything I've bought.
