I stopped using hot towels for facials after a client in Reno broke out in a rash
I always steamed clients with hot towels before extractions for 12 years, no problems. Then a lady in Reno came back 2 days later with red bumps all over her cheeks and said I burned her skin. I switched to lukewarm towels for a couple weeks and honestly the extractions went smoother and nobody complained about the heat. Turns out 120 degree towels were stripping the barrier on some skin types the whole time and I just never heard about it. Any of you still swear by hot towels or did you make the switch too?
