My color bowl cracked mid-foiling on a bride last Saturday
It was $45 gloss I had to throw out and re mix while she sat there with foil packets hanging off her head, anyone else had a tool fail at the worst possible moment?

Oh man, "color bowl cracked mid-foiling" just gave me chills because my friend Jen had this happen with her tint brush last year. She was doing a full highlight and lowlight on a bridal party mom, and the brush handle literally snapped in half while she was sectioning. She had to dig through her kit for a backup while the client sat there with foils sticking out like a science experiment. What makes it worse is you've got the clock ticking and the client is watching you, so every second feels like an hour. I swear tools always break at the worst possible moment, like they know when you're under pressure and decide to mess with you.

That line about tools "knowing when you're under pressure" really hits home @robinson.leo. Sometimes I wonder if the real unsung hero in these situations is just having good backup gear stashed nearby, not even the skill to fix the mess.
