Rant: Picked the cheaper color line for my kit and I'm paying for it now

Had to decide between the $8 tube stuff I've been using for years or this new $22 line my coworker kept pushing. Went cheap cause I had three weddings back to back and figured paint is paint. After two sessions the color faded weird on one bride's hair and I had to redo it for free. Lost $50 in product and 3 hours of my Saturday. Anyone else learn this lesson the hard way or am I just stubborn?

Did you end up using the same brand just a cheaper line or was it a totally different product? I did the EXACT same thing last year with a discount developer and it oxidized so bad the roots came out orange. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for with this stuff.
