Serious question about my gray coverage routine
I've been doing my own grays for about 2 years now, and I finally saw a real before-and-after difference last Tuesday. I switched from a permanent color to a demi-permanent gloss every 3 weeks instead of touching up roots every 6. The gray blending looks way more natural and my ends don't feel like straw anymore. I think the issue was that permanent dye was building up too much on my lengths. Any other stylists here tried this method on their own hair or clients? I'm curious if it holds up for heavier gray percentages like mine at 40 percent.

Switched from permanent color myself about a year ago (after noticing my ends were getting that weird crunchy texture). It really does make a difference for higher gray percentages since the gloss deposits color without the heavy lifting of oxidative dye. My grays at 45 percent blend in way better now and I don't have to stress about root line buildup.
