Shoutout to the client who made me realize my brush cleaning was lazy

I had this one regular with super fine blonde hair who kept complaining about weird buildup after gloss treatments. Last Tuesday I finally looked at my brush under a magnifying lamp and saw all this old product crusted between the bristles that I never fully got out. Anyone else ever get humbled by a detail like that?

Man that is such a good point. Used to think I was pretty thorough with my brush cleaning but now I'm rethinking everything. The magnifying lamp idea is genius actually, I never thought to check that close. Grabbed one of those little silicone scrub mats after reading this and wow, the difference is wild. My brushes feel brand new now and my color deposits are way more even. Feels dumb that it took someone else calling me out to really fix my routine. This is one of those things that seems small but actually changes your whole work quality.

yo for real though. my buddy sam was bitching about muddy colors for months before her roommate caught her scrubbing brushes with crusty soap and told her to get one of those mats... total game changer for her, said she felt like an idiot lmao
