The client who taught me the towel trick in Reno, 2011
I was 6 months out of beauty school working at a small salon on Virginia Street in Reno when a woman in her 70s named Doris sat in my chair and told me my blowout technique was fighting her hair instead of working with it. She grabbed my towel, wrapped it loose around her shoulders instead of tight, and said "honey, wet hair needs room to breathe or you're just smashing it flat." It's been 13 years and I still think about that, so what's the one little tip a client ever handed you that stuck?
