Old school lady at the shop next door. No mirror, no sectioning clips. Just scissors and her fingers. Made me wonder if I'm overcomplicating everything with all these new tools.

Wait, didn't she use that finger method where she kinda measures with her whole palm? That's actually a pretty old trick but it's really precise if you know what you're doing. I had a stylist explain it to me once and it blew my mind how accurate she could be without any tools. But here's the thing - those old school ladies have been doing it for decades, so they've got muscle memory that us regular folks just don't have. It's really cool to watch but probably not something most of us should try at home without a lot of practice first.
