My friendship survived 6 rounds of Mario Party because I took a break from raging at the screen
Back in 2019 my buddy Marcus stopped talking to me for a week after I chucked a controller during Mario Party. I used to treat every mini game like it was a championship final and yell at the TV every time I lost a star to a dice roll. Now we have a rule where whoever gets mad has to grab snacks for the group, and that dumb penalty has kicked in maybe 3 times in the last year. Last Saturday at my place in Lansing we ran 6 rounds straight and I lost 4 of them, but I just laughed it off and made nachos instead of sulking. The turning point was when Marcus said he stopped inviting people over because it felt like a job interview with all my trash talk. So how do you all handle the friend who takes party games way too seriously, do you call it out or just let them cool off?
