Question about passing the second controller to a guest, because I messed this up for years
For like 3 years I always handed new players the second controller and just said good luck. Last month my buddy Dave came over to play It Takes Two and after 20 minutes of him dying at the same jump I finally watched his screen instead of mine. He was holding the controller like a steering wheel and never used the right stick for camera at all, he just didn't want to say anything. Now I always do a 2 minute practice run on the first easy level before we start anything real, and nobody has rage quit since. How do you all onboard somebody who has not touched a controller since the Wii?
Why does nobody ever just admit they can't work a controller? My friend Matt had the same thing happen with his girlfriend and a racing game. She kept driving into walls and he got so mad, then he finally looked over and she was holding it upside down like a Wii remote pointed at the ceiling. Turns out she thought the little stick was just decoration. Now he makes everyone do a lap on the training track first, no matter how dumb it feels. Saved a lot of friendships, honestly.
