Just realized how much the radios have changed since I started
I was talking to a new guy on the site in Tacoma last week, and he said he'd never had to use a hand signal because his last two cranes had full color cameras and a radio with a private channel. It made me think about yelling over the old open band sets in the rain. What was the first big tech change that made you feel old on the job?

Remember when the radio was just a box with a big button? The new stuff is like a video game controller. Makes me miss the simple clunk of the old mic.

Ever think @miles992, that clunk was part of the magic?

My dad's old car radio had a dial that felt like turning a bank vault. That satisfying clunk was half the reason you turned it on.
