Just spent 3 hours trying to level a 50-ton load in a 15 mph crosswind
The foreman kept yelling 'just set it' but the load kept swinging like a pendulum. Anyone have a trick for this besides just waiting it out?

Buddy of mine used a tag line as a damper once" sounds like a bad idea waiting to happen. That tag line is not made for that kind of force or pressure. Using the wrong tool for the job is how people get hurt or wreck their gear. It might hold for a minute but it's a weak point that will fail. Just because someone did it does not make it smart or safe.

I used to think a tag line was fine until I saw one snap under way less weight.
