Logged my 10,000th hour on a tower crane this morning.

I was moving a steel beam for a new office building downtown and the counter hit that exact number. It felt big because I started on mobile cranes and never thought I'd get this much time up high. How do you guys track your hours, just in a logbook or something else?

Bro that's wild, 10k hours is like being a crane savant. My logbook is a mess of coffee stains and scribbles, I think I logged my lunch break as crane time once. You must have the forearms of a superhero from working those controls all day.

Forearms are overrated, it's all about the finesse in your fingertips. A messy logbook just shows you're actually working, not just clocking hours.

Gotta ask though - does finesse in your fingertips really matter when you're fighting a stuck lever or a frozen joystick on a cold morning? My hands cramp up just thinking about those days. Seems like some forearm power is needed for the grunt work, even if the delicate moves come from the fingers.
