Pro tip: Use a broom handle to check boom angle on the ground
I was setting up on a tight residential lot in Austin last Tuesday and couldn't get a good view of my boom angle indicator from the cab. Grabbed a broom handle, laid it along the boom foot, and used a cheap digital angle finder to verify before I picked the load. Anyone else got a low-tech field fix that saves time?

Ray324's bubble level setup reminds me of leveling a washer with a phone app.

Back in 2019 I was working a job near San Antonio and forgot my laser level at the shop. Ended up using a cheap bubble level from my truck toolbox and a piece of scrap wood to check grade on a concrete pad. Worked alright but I had to keep stopping to see if the bubble was still centered. Your broom handle trick is smarter than my setup.

Whoa hold on, you mixed up who did what. I said I forgot my laser and rigged up that bubble level on a scrap board. Kevin was the one who used the broom handle. But yeah, having to keep checking that bubble was a pain. I remember having to set my piece of wood down like ten times to make sure it hadn't shifted.
