Question about that new anti-sway app for mobile cranes

I dropped $150 on that CraneSteady Pro app last month thinking it would help with precise picks in tight spots, but the phone mount shook loose on a windy day at the site and the whole thing was useless. Has anyone actually had a good experience with these phone-based aids, or should we just stick to the old-school methods?

That 150 bucks stings but honestly luna75 is acting like a loose phone mount is gonna cause a total disaster. I've dropped my phone off scaffolding twice and it's fine, a plastic mount coming undone is annoying but not exactly a safety crisis. The app itself might work okay if you get a better mount or just tape it down, I've seen guys use zip ties on worse setups. Maybe we're overthinking this whole app thing, it's just a tool not a replacement for your brain and a good spotter.

Is it really worth risking a load over a phone app? That mount shaking loose says it all, the tech just isn't built for real site conditions. Old school feels safer until they make something that doesn't rely on a consumer-grade accessory.

Come on luna75, that mount shaking loose is just one bad setup, not proof the whole idea is broken...
