Shoutout to the guy who helped me after a cable snap on the job site in Memphis

I was lifting a 3-ton steel beam near the riverfront last Thursday when a winch cable snapped mid-hoist, sending the load swinging about 10 feet off the ground. I managed to set it down slow with the backup brake, but my hands were shaking for a good five minutes after. Has anyone else had a close call like that where you just had to rely on muscle memory to get through it?

That sounds terrifying. Pretty amazing how the backup brake saved you from a much worse situation. Glad you walked away from that one.

My backup brakes caught me sliding on black ice last winter.
