Switched to synthetic slings after a close call on a job site

Was always a wire rope guy. Thought synthetic was for light work. Then saw a YouTube video from a safety trainer. He showed how a broken wire rope whips back with 12,000 pounds of force. That energy can kill. Synthetic slings just rip and drop the load instead. Found out the SWL rating on synthetics matches wire rope exactly. Changed my whole rigging kit after that. Anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference in daily handling?

Yeah the daily handling is way lighter, I switched after a close call myself and never looked back.

My buddy Jim dropped his old carry on the subway tracks once, and that was enough for me. He's still got PTSD every time the doors close.
