Talked to a 30 year operator last week at a job site in Cleveland
He said he never uses the anti two-block unless the foreman is watching, and it got me thinking about how many shortcuts I take too. Has anyone else had a moment where a veteran's offhand comment made you second guess your own habits?

Read an OSHA report that said most two-block accidents happen with guys who have over 10 years experience, which lines up with what that operator told you. That confidence turns into bad habits when nobody's looking, exactly like he admitted. One stupid shortcut can undo decades of safe work in a split second.

Exactly what happened to me, I got lazy and almost wrecked a $50k hook block before I caught myself.
