Why does nobody talk about the new load chart software from CraneTech?
I used to do all my lift calculations by hand on paper charts, but after a close call on a job in Tacoma last month, I switched to their mobile app that does real-time wind and load updates, and it caught a 15% capacity error I would have missed.

That "15% capacity error" is a big deal, but I don't trust software to catch everything. It can make you lazy about checking the basics yourself. I'd still want my own numbers on paper as a backup.

Actually, I've found the software helps me catch things I might miss on paper. It's a tool, not a replacement for paying attention.
