Appreciation post: the 20 minutes my writing group gave me on a random Tuesday in Boise
Last week my prompt group met at a diner in Boise and I brought a prompt that just said "write about a door that won't stay shut." I figured it was a dud, but 6 people wrote 6 totally different scenes, one was a funeral home, one was a submarine. We spent 20 minutes reading them out loud and I filled 2 notebook pages with lines I stole for later. Now I want to build a whole month of prompts around one boring object. What everyday thing have you turned into a prompt that actually worked?
