Historical fiction writers, stop using modern slang in dialogue

Read a novel set in 1840s London where a blacksmith said 'no worries' to his wife. Pulled me right out of the story and I closed the book at page 87. Has anyone else hit this wall with period stories?

People act like one word ruins the whole book. You were 87 pages in, that means you were invested. Throwing it down over "no worries" seems like an excuse more than a real problem. Unless it's wall to wall slang, I can look past it. These writers have to make old timey people sound human somehow. Perfect 1840s dialogue would probably be boring to read anyway. Nobody actually talked like a history textbook, not even then.
