Just finished a short story I started three years ago in a Chicago coffee shop

I found the old notebook in a box last week. The first page was dated and had a coffee stain from that spot near the window. I wrote one new page each morning before work this month, and today I typed the final sentence. It feels good to close a loop I started so long ago. What's the oldest unfinished idea you've gone back to?

Found an old folder of song lyrics from high school last year. They were pretty bad, but one chorus had a decent melody stuck in my head. I rewrote the verses about my current life instead of teenage drama. Finished it and recorded a rough version on my phone, which felt way better than letting it rot in a drawer. Sometimes the old stuff just needed to sit until you had new things to say.
