Pro tip: That writing prompt about a haunted laundromat actually worked

I passed on that prompt for two weeks because it sounded too silly. Then I tried it during a slow afternoon and cranked out 1,800 words before dinner. Has anyone else had a random prompt unlock something they didn't expect?

Honestly, I think the real trick with those prompts is that they force you to stop overthinking. Like, a haunted laundromat is so specific and kind of dumb that you can't get stuck trying to make it perfect. You just jump in and start writing about wet socks falling out of a dryer by themselves or something. That's where the weird spark comes from, the silliness frees up your brain.

Three hundred words in twenty minutes, but @dianagreen, the silliness just made me write junk that needed heavy edits.
