Warning: I used to write 20 prompt ideas a session and burn out by Tuesday
Back when I was running a writer's group out of my apartment in Portland, I'd sit down Sunday night and try to brainstorm 20 prompts in one go, and by 8pm my brain was toast and half the ideas were just grocery lists with quotation marks. Now I keep a running note on my phone all week and dump one prompt in whenever something weird happens, like the time my neighbor spent 40 minutes arguing with a vending machine. I ended up with 6 solid prompts a week instead of 20 bad ones, and the group actually started finishing stories. What's your system for catching ideas before they vanish?
