Was dead wrong about writing prompts being lazy writing until I hit 50 entries
I spent 3 months rolling my eyes at daily prompts on this sub until my own story from one got picked up by a small lit mag last spring and now I'm hooked on them.

Wait, you mean I wasn't supposed to be holier-than-thou about writing prompts for the first 500 days of my life on here? Yeah, I was one of those people too. I thought prompts were just training wheels for people who couldn't come up with their own ideas, like they were cheating or something. Then I got desperate one night, wrote a 200 word flash piece from a prompt about a forgotten library, and it got accepted into a little online zine called "Straylight" the next week. Now I have a whole folder on my phone labeled "prompt darlings" and I check this sub every single day for new ones. Funny how being wrong can feel so good, you know?

That forgotten library prompt got me too, I was just as stubborn about prompts until that one hit different...
