Changed my mind about calling customer service after talking to a guy at Lowe's
I always figured phone support was useless, but I called Lowe's in Portland about a misdelivered lumber order and the guy on the line walked me through the whole fix in 8 minutes. He even flagged my account so the refund hit in 2 days instead of the usual wait. Has anyone else had a phone rep actually fix things faster than going to the store?

Gotta disagree on that "secret tier of super reps" bit, I think it's just random luck of the draw.

Did you wave a magic wand or something before calling? I swear every time I call customer service I end up explaining my problem four times then get transferred to someone who puts me on hold for 15 minutes. But yeah I had a similar experience with a flooring order once where the lady on the phone found the problem in like two seconds flat and fixed it while I was still trying to spell my own name. Makes you wonder if they've got some secret tier of super reps hidden away for special occasions or I just got real lucky. Honestly makes me want to call ahead for everything now even if it's just buying a lightbulb.
