I thought the 'free hotel breakfast' was just a box of cereal until this morning

Checked into a budget chain in Omaha last night and figured the breakfast would be those sad, prepackaged muffins. Went down this morning and the manager was actually cooking fresh omelets to order for a huge family. He saw me looking surprised and said, 'We try to do it right here.' That one guy's effort completely changed my view of the whole brand. Anyone else had a hotel employee go way beyond the basic job?

Ask the front desk about local food spots they actually like not the tourist traps.

That "we try to do it right" attitude is everything.

Actually, that's the bare minimum. The real difference is when you fix mistakes without being asked, even when it costs you time or money.

Fixing things before anyone notices. That's the real flex.
