My local hardware store's manager gave me a full refund on a broken drill after I calmly explained the situation, which made me wonder if being polite is the real key to getting good results.

I was at the hardware store on Main Street yesterday returning a drill that stopped working after 2 uses, and while the clerk initially said no, the manager overheard my calm explanation and gave me a full refund, so do you think being nice actually gets you further than getting angry with customer service?

How do you think I got this many refunds on my bad cooking gadgets... it's not my skills.

Yeah, I feel you on that, @cole_patel41.

Tell me about it. My kitchen cabinet is full of gadgets that looked great online but just don't work right. I feel for @cole_patel41, because it's never our fault, it's the gadget's. I wasted thirty bucks on a garlic press that just smashes the clove into a sticky mess.
