Picked the call center over the store return desk, big mistake

I had a broken blender from Target and chose to call their 800 number instead of going back to the store. They put me on hold for 22 minutes then said I needed the original box, which I already threw out. Has anyone else gotten a faster result just showing up in person?

Honestly its just a broken blender from Target not a kidney transplant. Just show up in person and tell them you dont have the box anymore most stores will still take it back if you have the receipt. Ngl calling their customer service line for something like that is just asking for a headache. Target employees at the desk usually dont care that much about the box policy if you just explain the situation.

Yeah its funny how people treat every minor inconvenience like its some huge bureaucratic ordeal. I see it everywhere now. Guy at the grocery store spends ten minutes filling out an online complaint form because his avocados were hard. Meanwhile the return desk at Home Depot will take back a half used bag of mulch if you just walk up and talk to them. We've all been trained to think every transaction needs a paper trail and a customer service ticket. But half the time just showing up and being a normal person works better than any automated system they've got.
